Job description

A rapidly-growing tech company helping people build their credit score by providing them with a digital credit card is looking for a Back-End Node Developer. The selected candidate will be a key member of the product team and work closely with the Founder/CEO and Engineering Lead. The company is on a mission to promote financial inclusion by giving those who have been turned down by traditional lenders a way to get credit. They have secured fundings worth more than $257K so far. This is a long-term role requiring 6+ hours overlap with the GMT time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage distributed and scalable systems running on AWS
  • Utilize prior hands-on coding experience in a modern object-oriented language
  • Evaluate and gather business requirements, advocating for best practices and result delivery within the team 
  • Navigate unique challenges and opportunities to provide software that benefits several customers from the onset

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Profound programming experience with NodeJS, JavaScript
  • Expert software engineering skills and capable of writing maintainable, testable, and robust codes
  • Experience designing and implementing clean RESTful APIs 
  • Proficiency in building scalable, reliable solutions using product requirements
  • Nice to have prior experience with AWS Serverless services such as Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB
  • Previous experience with event-driven architectures is desirable
  • Experience with system and application monitoring, software distribution, patching, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines is nice to have
  • Ability to track the health of the company’s services, identify and fix problems proactively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
