Job description

A cyber security insurance company that provides an analytics-based approach to cyber insurance is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will work within the platform engineering team developing a data analytics back-end for cyber-insurance and financial risk modeling. The company focuses on closing the gap between technology and insurance by using AI-powered analytics that tracks individual exposure in real-time. It has raised close to $10 mn in funding so far. Candidates who would like to work in an active development team building best-in-class cyber insurance products are suitable for this position.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing components of data engineering stacks like data pipelines, data lakes, and reporting frameworks
  • Help to design and configure micro-services underlying our underwriting products and external APIs provided to measured partners
  • Provide essential technical guidance to junior developers aligned to the project
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team for automating CI/CD pipelines and AWS deployments

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant professional experience as a back-end engineer
  • Must be able to work with modern languages like TypeScript and Python
  • Experience in working with Nest.js will be an added advantage
  • A background in data engineering and information security
  • Proficiency in modern cloud-based software architectures, including microservices, containers, and serverless computing
  • Must possess proven experience in building and deploying SaaS products in the cloud (preferably AWS)
  • Must be able to utilize data engineering tools on AWS such as Glue, Athena, S3
  • Should be familiar with agile software development processes
