Job description

A rapidly-growing company that helps individuals to work in a global setting without being hampered by language barriers is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be tasked with troubleshooting problems across a wide array of services and functional areas. The company provides an AI-powered translation assistant to help users communicate seamlessly with English-speaking colleagues. This will be a full-time role requiring some overlap with the EST/PST time zones. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build databases from scratch to save user account information and messages
  • Develop back-ends for payments module using technologies like Stripe
  • Drive the back-end development of the login, signup, and onboarding modules
  • Build services to ensure and implement account authentication processes
  •  Collaborate frequently with Machine Learning and Product teams

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Must possess expertise in working with languages like Python
  • Experience in working with technologies like JavaScript and Typescript
  • Should possess familiarity with AWS-based development processes
  • Knowledge of database technologies like SQL and NoSQL is essential
  • Well-versed with processes related to the design and development of REST APIs
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality and reliable solutions 
  • Work with a holistic and test-oriented approach to troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
  • Must have excellent communications skills with fluency in English and Spanish
  • Prior experience developing Chrome extension and ML products will be an added advantage
