Job description

A US-based company building exceptional software that rewards health-conscious people is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for proposing new methods to drive engineering-focused initiatives and improvements across the platform. The company is determined to help Vegans, marathon runners, triathletes, well-controlled diabetics, yogis, crossfitters, and others who can benefit from a lower life insurance rate. They have managed to securely raise more than $130mn during their Series D round of funding. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build modern B2C, B2B, and internal BPO services using the latest frameworks and security principles
  • Develop new and rework old solutions to improve scalability, fault-tolerance, and security features
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and technical leadership to define and add functionalities for improving business efficiency
  • Develop an understanding of complex systems and implement the latest technologies and patterns for improvements
  • Lead development processes and keep improving critical subsystems
  • Execute the full SDLC, including requirements analysis, architecture and design specification, service development, code review, testing, and delivery

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience working as a back-end engineer
  • Deep understanding of Back-end technologies like Typescript/Node, Ruby, Java, Python, or other server-side object-oriented languages
  • Ability to work with web frameworks such as Express, along with Rails, Spring, and Django
  • Understanding of API standards like GraphQL, REST, and OAuth
  • Experience in working with data storage technologies like SQL, NoSQL, Redis, OLTP, and Data Lake
  • Familiarity with Serverless, Containerization, and CICD deployments
  • Must be committed to improving scalability, latency, stability, and performance with a deep understanding of trade-offs between acceptable offerings and costs
  • Must be a self-motivated and self-managed problem solver able to jump in as and when required
