Job description

A global cross-language communication platform for freelancers and remote teams is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will take charge of building the database from scratch to help store critical user account information and messages. The company’s leadership team includes an experienced, mission-driven team from Google, Stanford, and Harvard. The platform is trusted by over 45K freelancers. This will be a full-time position requiring a time overlap with the Eastern/Pacific time zones.

Job Responsibilities:

Build the back-end of the payments module using Stripe
Design and develop the back-end of the login and signup modules
Be responsible for the back-end of the onboarding module
Build tools and implement account authentication
Collaboration frequently with the ML and Product teams
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products
Use a holistic, test-oriented approach to troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant back-end engineering experience
Proficiency with Python, JavaScript, Typescript, AWS, SQL, and NoSQL databases
Firm grasp over the design and construction of REST APIs
Good Spanish speaking skills is a plus
Experience building Chrome extension and ML products is nice to have
