Job description

A US-based company that is reimagining healthcare staffing is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The developer will be tasked with powering the core business product used by thousands of healthcare professionals to manage their careers. The company is transforming the traditional, inequitable nursing structures, allowing nurses to take control of their careers. During their Series A round of funding, the company managed to secure more than $25 mn. This will be a full-time, long-term role requiring some overlap with the PST time zone.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, scale, and maintain new and existing features in the back-end
  • Develop new and existing features on proprietary applications and services  
  • Build and optimize the services that automate complex communication trees and business processes
  • Work on optimizing the platform’s performance for real-time event and analytics pipelines, 3rd party service integrations, etc.
  • Collaborate with design, product, and business teams to make decisions and solve performance issues
  • Use a variety of languages, systems, and technologies to own and solve problems end-to-end

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • 5+ years experience working with Ruby on Rails
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and React is nice to have
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and Git
  • Demonstrated ability in UI/UX 
  • Must be proactive and goal-driven
