Job description

A well-established company that has built a beloved social networking platform with a global userbase is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be contributing to the development and maintenance of new Go back-end services. The U.S.-based company is on a mission to help users connect with like-minded people, join and build communities, and engage in online conversations. During their Series F round, the company has managed to secure $1.1bn+ in funding. This position requires 6+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Ability to assume total responsibility for a task or characteristic
Help the team to migrate from a mainly Python codebase into Golang
Contribute to the development of the ad serving and testing system of the future
Help to improve the scalability of the platform's infrastructure

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
3+ years of experience working with Golang, Scala, and Java
Comprehensive knowledge in large-scale back-end service design
Prior knowledge of distributed systems is desirable
Nice to have an understanding of client needs and an interest in the advertising industry
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
