Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing a social platform to help like-minded people across the world to communicate with each other, is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be creating unique sponsored experiences that excite both users and advertisers. The company is on a mission to help users feel connected and engage with their communities more easily. This position requires an extensive overlap with the PST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Be part of a product engineering team that’s building new and exciting promoted experiences
Collaborate closely with the platform and data teams while building new features
Partner with front-end and mobile teams to build cohesive product flows
Contribute to the full development cycle of products: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
Review code and design docs, and give feedback on product specs and mocks

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end Engineer
Experience in Python and Go, or other general-purpose programming languages such as Java, Scala, or C++
Previous experience in shopping and video is nice to have
Able to take complete ownership of a feature or project
Good understanding of large-scale back-end service design
Interest in the advertising business and understanding customer needs is a plus
Good command of spoken and written English communication
