Job description

A rapidly growing company on a mission to create the most technologically advanced index platform globally is looking for a Back-End Developer. The candidate must be willing to take ownership, accept challenging tasks, execute them with finesse and approach each work with honesty and a positive attitude. The platform allows users to design, backtest, analyze, benchmark investment strategies and indexes using data-driven decisions rather than relying on traditional indexing solutions. The company has managed to raise more than $1.2 mn in funding so far. This will be a full-time role requiring some overlap with the PST/EST time zones.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Mentor less experienced engineers and enforce software development standards
  • Develop complete components from scratch
  • Build scalable, readable, and well-documented stacks 
  • Design, develop and manage back-end-heavy work practices 
  • Enhance the overall user experience and push new updates to the products 
  • Use a holistic, test-oriented approach to troubleshoot, debug and upgrade the application
  • Analyze, configure, and tune the back-end web application

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Prolific skills with Python and related technologies
  • Solid understanding of cloud deployment, Golang, and PostgreSQL is nice to have
  • Prior experience working in a Fintech environment is desirable
  • Strong communication skills along with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
