Job description

A U.S.-based company on a mission to reduce the carbon footprint with their revolutionary transportation services is looking for a Back-End/Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying problems and designing robust solutions based on the best industry practices. The NASDAQ-listed company is utilizing modern technology to manufacture cutting-edge electrical vehicles that make a real difference in the environment. So far, the company has raised $10.2 bn+ in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deploy containerized back-end services running in AWS ECS for querying and processing data from Redshift, Snowflake, and Aurora
  • Extend existing data pipelines implemented in Redshift and Snowflake with SQL and DBT and implement new ones
  • Implement system integrations and data transformations to process data from various systems and store it in Aurora
  • Manage development and integration of the low-level design and tuning of the target data model

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Extensive experience in AWS, especially containerized services (running in ECS)
  • Prolific experience in Redshift, Snowflake, and Aurora
  • Prior experience conducting Python unit testing and mocks
  • Extensive experience in GitLab and GitLab CI
  • Experience with DBT, Apache Spark / AWS Glue, and Pulumi is preferred but not required 
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
