Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering automation and orchestration of cloud tools and technologies
  • Guide junior developers in designing and building technical solutions on cloud
  • Contribute to planning, designing, and development of cloud-based applications
  • Maintain close communication with project owners and stakeholders to determine the needs for new initiatives
  • Share your expertise and assist in building scalable, distributed, and high-performance computing cloud-based platform solutions
  • Collaborate with solutions architects to install configuration, maintain and support applications in public cloud environments
  • Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as per development best practices throughout the SDLC

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a Cloud engineer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Solid understanding of AWS, Azure, GCP, Networking, Building environments, and Kubernetes
  • Experience in SRE with the ability to guide others to a more observable system
  • Demonstrable experience building release engineering tools and practices to ensure low MTTR
  • Profound understanding of large-scale distributed systems, including multi-tier architectures, application security, monitoring, and storage systems
  • Prior experience in building on AWS products and infrastructure
  • Experience with software engineering, scripting, automation, and orchestration tools
  • Proficient understanding of PowerShell, Ansible, GitHub, Terraform, etc.
  • Fluency in English to collaborate with engineering managers and clients more effectively
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) and a 4 hour overlap with US time zone

Preferred skills

  • Experience with virtual/cloud infrastructure and public and private Cloud technologies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Golang code, testing, and production aspects
  • Experience in Kubernetes microservices and networking
  • Basic ideas of AWS RDS, Aurora, and Postgres database administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage a team and mentor junior engineers
