Job responsibilities
- Design, build and implement cloud platform solutions
- Design and build data pipelines for supporting analytical solutions.
- Provide level of effort estimates to support planning activities.
- Provide microservices architecture and design specifications.
- Fix defects found during implementation process or reported by the software test team.
- Support software process definition and improvement initiatives and release process working with DevOps team.
- Demonstrate commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Alere Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Understand and recognize the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Experience in architecting and developing cloud-based solutions
- Experience in designing, developing and creating data pipelines, data warehouse applications and analytical solutions
- Deep cloud domain expertise in: architecture, big data, microservice architectures, cloud technologies, data security and privacy, tools, and testing
- Excellent programming skills in data pipeline technologies like Azure Data Factory, SSIS.
- Extensive experience with Service Oriented Architecture, microservices, virtualization and working with relational databases and non-relational databases.
- Excellent knowledge of building big data solutions using NoSQL databases.
- Experience with secure coding best practices and methodologies, vulnerability scans, threat modeling, and cyber-risk assessments.
- Experience with implementation and integration of network features, network interfaces, REST API’s, and interface protocols
- Fluent in English to communicate effectively
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Experience with MongoDB and Cosmos DB is a plus
- Experience in Python is a plus
- Experience in big data solutions and analytics; using BI tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus
- Experience with other cloud computing platforms
- Azure or AWS Certification such as a Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Fundamentals, data scientist, developer, etc.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Great technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
