Skills required to become an Android/Java developer
The first step to building your career as a successful Android/Java developer is to know about the essential skills required to become one. Let’s have a look at what skills you need to know in order to become an Android/Java developer!
1. JAVA
Java is the foundation of android development. It is an object-oriented language (OOPS). For developers who use other languages to create applications, there will be a learning curve while learning java for them as well. All the codes should be clear and perform functions efficiently, and that’s what Java ensures.
2. XML
To encode data in internet-based applications, XML is used. Being a structured markup language, it shares many features with HTML. It enables the quick and fast exchange of information between devices in an easy to understand manner. XML is used by developers to create layouts that serve as a foundational UI definition for Android applications. So developers need to have a basic understanding of XML.
3. ANDROID SDK
Software Development Kit or SDK, are modules that let developers access functions like a camera. Suppose you want to integrate Facebook (any social media platform) with your app, you do it with the help of the library. i.e Gradle. All you have to do is download the code from Facebook and tell Gradle you’re using it. Whenever the application complies the code stays in place. Many other examples make it easier to use and plug in your app.
4. APIS
As a developer, you have to keep in mind that your users might need a third-party service for some features. That’s what APIs are for. APIs tell you how you can query your data in a secured way. You can either connect with any existing APIs or connect to your own from your app.
5. Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
Android studio is the most preferred IDE among android mobile app developers. It offers you many SDK support features and provides auto-complete suggestions when one types the code. If you’re looking to land a good opportunity, we suggest you have a basic understanding of IDE.
