Job description
Job responsibilities
- Collaborate with back-end engineers and product managers to determine, design, and deliver high-quality mobile applications
- Create clean, efficient, and reusable mobile components and develop scalable mobile solutions
- Identify areas of improvement and advocate for app development best practices
- Ensure code quality, efficiency, and performance by analyzing and optimizing the application
- Build modern universal applications for Android
- Troubleshoot production issues and maintain documentation for future reference
- Feasibly estimate the product feature and provide solutions
- Coordinate with multi-faceted teams to innovate new ideas, explore technologies and deliver projects within deadlines and budget
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, (or equivalent experience)
- At least 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Proficient in Java, Kotlin, and concepts like Kotlin Coroutines and Android Jetpack Components
- Good knowledge of data structure, algorithm, and logical reasoning
- Expertise in Android basic components like Activity, Fragment, Services, etc. and profiling, memory management, battery or a CPU optimization
- Proficiency in architecture patterns like MVVM, MVP, and other design patterns
- Strong understanding of web service integration using REST, JSON, XML, etc.
- Deep knowledge of third-party tools, or libraries like Retrofit, Dagger 2, RxJava, etc.
- Profound experience in database concepts using SQLite, Room
- Working experience in build/release processes and DevOps activity with tools like Jenkins, Git, TFS, JIRA, TeamCity, etc.
- Hands-on experience in production debugging using ADB DDMS, Crashlytics, etc.
- Fluency in English language for effective communication
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Proficient in writing unit testing using Mockito, Robolectric, Junit, etc.
- Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Familiarity with continuous integration
- Demonstrable experience with Flutter
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
- Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
