Job description

A Silicon Valley-based company that has built a social-first gaming platform for sports gaming is looking for a Web Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will report directly to the CTO and integrate the system with payment processors, sports data providers, ID verification services, and more. The platform allows users to participate in friendly wagers, making sports gaming more interactive and engaging. This position requires some overlap with the PST/EST time zones. The company has managed to raise more than $1.5 mn so far. This is a full-time role and will be a foundational position within the organization with lots of growth opportunities.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively jump in and contribute when you encounter something to add value 
  • Lead and grow a team of back-end engineers
  • Have a hands-on approach to coding
  • Own the back-end code and infrastructure
  • Provide technical direction and feedback, including short-term tactical and long-term strategic planning

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Expertise in AWS ECS/EC2, Lambda, Cloudfront, Cloudformation, S3, networking, and infrastructure
  • Extensive Node.js and CI/CD experience
  • Prolific experience with third-party APIs
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL and GraphQL is nice to have
  • Strong API integration experience
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Team-first mentality and can work well with others
  • Autonomous worker requiring little direction to execute tasks
  • Knowledge of sports will be beneficial to have
