Web Back-End Engineer

An emerging revenue intelligence platform supporting sales teams at pharmaceuticals and home health companies is looking for a Web Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for building out and owning the back-end Python services that support the sales, territory management, and augmentation platforms for life science companies. The company has raised a pre-seed fund amounting to almost $1 mn. Through its platform, sales and marketing personnel can easily access recent medical procedural data, comprehend territories, and uncover deep insights about a physician's practice or facility's operations. This is a long-term opportunity requiring an overlap with CST.

Job Responsibilities:

• Play a pivotal role in developing the integrations into a scalable, easily configurable architecture
• Take ownership of new services and architecture as the platform expands 
• Promote an excellent engineering culture of improvement and humility
• Act as a primary contributor to the solutions for problems identified by the business and customers
• Contribute to optimizing search across datasets of health care providers

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
• Expert skills in Python and establishing patterns that scale
• Knowledge of Django REST framework for the back-end
• Mastery of relational databases - Postgres
• Experience with deployments and managing architecture in an AWS environment and/or infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Comfortable with Elasticsearch or other search technologies 
• Exposure to geographic bound search, management, and segmentation
• Proficient with PostGIS and relevant technologies to utilize geographic bounds to enrich and aggregate data
• Experience with 3rd party integrations (CRM-focused), with opinions on what works and what doesn't
• Fluency in English
