Web Back-End Engineer

A U.S.-based company that is developing a reliable messaging system for connecting potential tenants with apartment complex residents, is looking for a Web Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for increasing the performance and scalability of apps while analyzing customer and internal team input to find problems and improvement opportunities. With the help of the company's innovative resident referral platform, clients can convert more leads and learn what tenants desire. The company has managed to secure $1.2mn+ in funding so far. This position requires some overlap with either Nigerian, the U.S., or the European time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

• Take charge and contribute to various back-end engineering projects
• Design, develop, test, release, maintain, and enhance software and new features that are visible to users
• Promote a love of engineering best practices including testing, linting, and good code
• Verify the software's dependability, extensibility, maintainability, debuggability, security, thorough testing, and load-time performance

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
• Demonstrable experience working with Ruby
• Some familiarity with Python, React, and SQL is desirable
• Excellent conversational and written English communication skills
