Job description

A U.S-based company on a mission to revolutionize the hospitality industry by providing impeccable family vacations is looking for a Web Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing new services and APIs to support current and future front-end features. The company offers travel subscription services that provide access to exclusive resort availability with VIP benefits at the guaranteed lowest rates. The company has managed to raise close to $50 mn in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create, expand, and maintain a data warehouse for use in various business analytics
  • Integrate and manage multiple business service data feeds
  • Create new services and APIs to power existing and future front-end features
  • Cooperate with product managers and designers to iterate on the product suite's design and implementation
  • Conduct code and design reviews
  • Identify areas for improvement and advocate for best practices on the back end
  • Willingness to work across the stack to solve technical problems in any part of the system

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Expertise with Snowflake, Salesforce, and RDBS
  • Experience with API management, developer, and/or integration technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Knowledge of PHP along with experience in Symfony, Doctrine, Twig, and Docker
  • Experience using source control environments such as GIT
  • Experience writing automated tests and working in continuous integration environments
  • Experience working with travel technology is nice to have
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and constituents while prioritizing under time constraints
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in the mining of problems through data analysis
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to act effectively with only high-level guidance are required
  • Proficiency in English
