Web Back-End Developer

A US-based company providing a unique opportunity for solar technology to achieve new heights is looking for a Web Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will be collaborating with the existing team of engineers and product managers to build out new features for the platform. The company is modernizing silicon solar panels to lower installed system prices and enhance module manufacturing profit margins while opening up new solar markets. It has managed to successfully raise $18mn+ during the Series A round of funding. This will be a long-term position requiring some overlap with the PST time zone. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality code that is well-tested
• Build a solid platform using modern abstractions and frameworks
• Work independently to produce impactful and profitable results
• Recognize how customers use the products and seek to improve them on a regular basis

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
• Extensive Data and Platform Engineering experience
• Demonstrable experience working with Java/C++, Python, RDBMS, ETL/ELT, and SQL
• Nice to have some knowledge of REST/RESTful APIs, NoSQL, SASS, and Oracle SQL
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and ElasticSearch technologies is desirable
• Extensive Data mining and database experience (SQL)
• Proven experience working on projects that show design competency in the area of databases
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
• Experience developing Software as a Service on a public cloud
