Job description

A US-based company that provides families with data-driven college assistance is looking for a Web Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will be in charge of designing new solutions to improve the performance and scalability of systems. The company's cutting-edge technology assists students in finding colleges, determining their acceptance chances, and receiving personalized guidance and counseling during the admissions process. During their Series B round, the company secured funding worth more than $30.5 mn. This will be a full-time role that requires 4+ hours overlap with the PST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop high performing, quality applications
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions
  • Understand and implement best solutions for cross-browser compatibility and client-side scripting
  • Build and implement new application features
  • Write clean code and make smart software decisions

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Prolific working knowledge of Ruby on Rails and related technologies
  • Great organizational and management skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
