Job description

A US-based edtech company focused on teaching 21st-century skills to kids is looking for a Senior Full-stack React/Vue Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for the architecture and development of several crucial initiatives on the web to scale the enterprise platform, as well as leading key features as a core member of the engineering team. The company offers a global creator platform for kids to learn from the world’s best story teachers and has received numerous industry awards and accolades from several media and publishing organizations. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of educators and developers to build innovative solutions and create personalized learning journeys for both parents and kids.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate deep technical understanding of highly interactive/dynamic web applications
  • Work with the development and product teams to define requirements for internal and externally facing web applications
  • Work with UX/UI designers to ensure interfaces conform to internal style specifications
  • Work with Android/iOS teams to ensure a consistent user experience in web and mobile apps
  • Lead or collaborate on the design of frontend applications' architecture
  • Implement features and functionality based on existing mock-ups
  • Use React, Vue.js, or similar single-page application frameworks to build responsive, accessible components and libraries with an eye toward reuse
  • Work with state managers such as Flux, Redux, or Vuex
  • Integrate with internal and third-party SDKs and APIs
  • Write tests using modern frameworks such as Jest
  • Contribute to documentation of architecture and release notes
  • Use modern build pipelines like CI/CD to monitor and improve application performance
  • Write and maintain server-side code, in languages such as Python and NodeJS
  • Build on top of a serverless architecture

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in a lead developer role for a high traffic web application
  • Experience working at a tech startup or other fast-moving engineering team
  • Proficiency with architecting and creating SPAs using React/Vue.js
  • Experience working with GSD formats
  • Good English communication skills
