Job description

A peer-to-peer online kids community and content marketplace for student-directed learning is looking for a Senior Full-stack React/Firebase Engineer. As a passionate, product-minded, and efficient developer, you will be responsible for developing new user-facing features using React.js to help empower kids and make education into entertainment. The platform is based on the philosophy pioneered by an accomplished industry leader who has positively impacted the lives of thousands of children through lifelong work to evolve education for the 21st century. The ideal candidate will work actively and draw inspiration from seeing customers utilize the product. This is a nice opportunity to join the team as one of the earliest engineers while contributing to the foundations for culture, technical design, customer experience and positively impact the lives of kids, parents, and families at large.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop new user-facing features using React.js to make education into entertainment
  • Build reusable components and make technical decisions that scale the team
  • Solve problems rapidly and assist with the team efforts
  • Contribute efficiently to execute high-quality products in a fast-paced environment
  • Work actively in directing the product roadmap and strategy
  • Take complex and challenging operational processes and build simple and maintainable software

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science(or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive knowledge of React.js, Node.js, HTML and CSS 
  • Prior experience with Firebase is a plus
  • Passionate about web standards and accessibility
  • Experience in shipping production-quality applications at scale
  • Ability to translate designs/prototypes into lasting, high-quality code
  • Strong communication skills with a problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to quickly identify issues and debug code in high-pressure situations
