Job description

A fast-growing banking platform helping companies provide financial products to their customers is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer. The engineer will join the team and build developer-friendly APIs while collaborating on solving complex problems and launching new features. The company offers payment, deposit, lending, and investment products as APIs to FinTech firms and has raised over $50 mn in funding so far. The role presents a nice opportunity to join a fast scaling company and grow rapidly.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop clean, scalable, and reliable code 
  • Work closely with other technical teams to solve complex problems and launch new features
  • Architect high-quality solutions for complex software problems and implement them for production and deployments
  • Architect systems and build for scale from inception to execution
  • Interact with new or existing customers and serve as a subject matter expert the products
  • Carry out code reviews and mentor team members on engineering best practices
  • Utilize the best of the stack and build from scratch as required to create and debug existing production issues
  • Design, improve and execute backend implementations of new and existing production applications 
  • Be responsible for your work from ideation to deployment
  • Develop testable and trustworthy systems that eliminate manual tasks for the financial services industry
  • Be a team player and deliver on high priority schedules and goals
  • Have a general concern for the well-being of others and the desire to work on problems that maximize a positive future for humanity

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Statistics, and/or any other related field is required; an advanced degree is a plus
  • At least 7 years of production experience, core fundamentals, and related professional backend engineering experience
  • Ability to write tests and sound expertise with Python
  • Experience with ELK, MongoDB, Redshift, MySQL, and Redis databases is a plus 
  • Track record of building large scale systems to solve challenging and complex issues
  • Prior experience with flask to build APIs, Docker, and Rancher to deploy and orchestrate
  • Proficiency with AWS to host, CircleCI to test, and Github is preferred
