Job description

A US-based company developing a social platform exclusively for fitness and wellness coaches and their students is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer. The selected candidate will be working closely with the CTO on the platform’s UX while building out the back-end APIs. The company's platform empowers independent trainers with the technology they need to compete with big brand fitness systems and promote their workout regimes on the marketplace. This is an exciting opportunity for developers to work with industry veterans and make a name for themselves.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute and play a crucial role in building out the company’s MVP
  • Help deliver the product against the defined milestones
  • Utilize technical aptitude to make the right choices
  • Collaborate with the in-house and external technology team
  • Help turn business goals into software solutions
  • Enable sprint-based product development as part of the growing software engineering team
  • Contribute to technical solutions as part of the engineering team
  • In a cloud environment, design, create, and maintain strong applications
  • Implement automated tests and integration tests, preferably in TTD
  • Identify issues, respond to user feedback, and resolve critical blockers
  • Analyze data and make recommendations to guarantee a stable and scalable platform

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack engineer
  • 5+ years of experience with user-facing web application software development
  • Extensive experience working with Node.js, React Native, Firebase, and GCP
  • Experience with React Native iOS and Android mobile app
  • Prior experience with React-Native-Web web app built from the same mono-repo as the mobile apps
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with GitHub Actions
  • Nice to have some understanding of modern web front-end component-based architecture patterns and cloud applications
  • Prior experience with a variety of web services and application architecture is desirable
  • Experience working in a continuous integration and deployment system is nice to have
  • Production experience with cloud services and implementing unit testing and automated testing is desirable
  • Knowledge of or experience in planning, estimating, and working from user stories in an agile sprint-based team workflow is nice to have
  • Some experience cooperating and contributing as a member of a high-velocity cross-functional team with constantly changing roles is desirable
  • Familiarity with React Native Web, CI/CD pipelines, Containerization, and Stripe APIs is nice to have
  • Nice to have some experience or interest in the fitness industry
  • Possess an end-user mindset with excellent communication skills
