Job description

A U.S.-based company that provides top-notch hospitality services for both business and leisure tourists, is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer. The engineer will be participating in code reviews, testing, and deployment procedures to ensure that software solutions are of a high caliber and satisfy both client and business demands. The company uses cutting-edge cloud-based technologies to build interfaces with a range of service providers in areas of business like revenue management, pricing, payments, and property management. The company has managed to secure more than $142.8mn in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Add pricing recommendations from a revenue management system partner to enable multiple pricing models, compute taxes and fees, import financial data, bill visitors, and facilitate financial reconciliation
  • Work with product managers, front-end leads, and UX designers to develop the organization's internal operational platform for the future
  • Take full responsibility for the product areas you are working on, and be obliged to make decisions at every level of the stack
  • Execute a 2-week agile sprint development methodology
  • Join a team that is developing the financial and data platform to underpin our operations and technology on a large scale
  • Help the team create a property management system that sets the standard for the industry and write Internet of Things APIs to handle hospitality automation throughout the properties we manage
  • Contribute to the team designing seamless digital systems and experiences for customers
  • Uphold and raise the high engineering standards by making sure that the code is secure, fast, and scalable
  • Work with product managers, designers, and other engineers to find, rank, and deliver solutions that address challenging business issues such as demand forecasting, pricing, inventory control, and customer segmentation
  • Create technical specification documents of the highest caliber that outline the specifications, architecture, design, and implementation specifics, testing specifications, and deployment strategies of a software system
  • Develop solutions in close collaboration with our finance and accounting teams to meet our financial objectives and adhere to legal and regulatory standards for financial reporting
  • Effectively communicate with all organizational stakeholders, including non-technical ones, in order to comprehend business needs and offer solutions that address those needs
  • Contribute to the creation of the team's overall strategy and provide thought leadership on technical and business issues relating to our revenue management systems and procedures
  • Participate actively in team culture by encouraging cooperation, creativity, and ongoing education


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack engineer
  • Ability to function without set procedures or in-depth instruction
  • Prolific Node.js server-side application development expertise using frameworks like Express.js or Nest.js
  • Professional working knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies
  • Nice to have extensive experience setting up and managing cloud-based web applications like AWS
  • Solid knowledge of serverless, microservice-based architectures like
  • Strong familiarity with event-driven communication patterns
  • Extensive knowledge of agile techniques and quick iteration cycles
  • Nice to have some experience working on or building a financial management system, like pricing, forecasting, tax systems, etc.
  • Ability to develop strong empathy with visitors and members of the operating team so that the company can pay close attention to their input and act on it
  • Nice to have a passion for hospitality, travel, and/or adventure
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
