Job description

A U.S.-based company that is on a mission to help clients find solace in an inclusive community and gyms is looking for a Full-Stack Back-End-Heavy Lead. The candidate will be working in close collaboration with the CTO to improve the features that the platform/app already offers while independently addressing crucial architectural and execution details. The company is helping people get fitter and live healthier lifestyles by providing them with encouragement, empowerment, and entertainment on their fitness journey. The company has managed to secure more than $21mn in funding so far. This position requires some overlap with the EST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing, managing, and mentoring a future group of outstanding developers, offering advice and assistance to less-experienced programmers to improve their abilities and output
  • In order to ensure smooth integration and effective operation of all inter-related systems, lead and manage the maintenance and enhancement of the Cloud platform
  • Plan and carry out development projects, making sure they are finished on time and at a high standard
  • To comprehend requirements, offer technical insights, and promote successful solutions, work closely with a variety of teams, including product managers, designers, and stakeholders
  • Explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a concise manner
  • Deliver top-notch results while being committed to the organization's long-term success
  • Manage the current Cloud platform for web-based infrastructure that connects many crucial systems, add to it, and improve it
  • Oversee the specialized cloud platform that links to and interfaces with Hubspot CRM, third-party mobile applications, specialized middleware, and member management systems (ABC Fitness and MotionSoft)

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack or back-end engineer
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Lead, managing complex cloud-based platforms and integrations
  • 3+ years of experience working with PHP and Ruby on Rails
  • 3+ years of experience with React and REST/RESTful APIs
  • Solid hands-on experience utilizing React.js/JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, PHP/Laravel, and other languages in order to contribute to practical programming activities and problem-solving tasks efficiently
  • Solid understanding of AWS technologies, such as EC2, S3, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, Elastic Search, AWS Certificate Manager, Route53, and Application Load Balancer, to help enhance platform scalability and performance
  • Prior experience successfully managing and mentoring development teams
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and third-party integration working experience, such as Hubspot, is a plus
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
