Job description

A U.S.-based company that has managed to develop a well-loved online platform that enables users to communicate with each other and join online communities, is looking for a Senior Data Scientist. The selected candidate will be in charge of creating dashboards to track the effectiveness of marketing expenditures and their return on investment. The company is developing an online platform that lets people post links, produce content, and participate in discussions about the subjects that interest them. The company has managed to secure $1bn+ in funding so far. This position requires a significant overlap with the PST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in the areas of product development, marketing, and business development in order to simulate, evaluate, and shape the effects of various marketing strategies
  • Conduct research studies to comprehend the behavior of advertisers obtained through various paid marketing channels 
  • Create an advertising segmentation to aid in the better measurement of client demands and workflows
  • To calculate the worth of advertisers obtained through paid marketing, establish lifetime value models
  • Set up tests or conduct in-depth post-campaign analysis to help the team understand performance and opportunities for better targeting
  • Become an essential member of the Data Org (comprised of Data Science, Data Engineering, Experimentation, and Core ML), utilizing and adding to the active knowledge base shared among a community of top-tier data experts
  • Understand the data and do an in-depth business analysis
  • Recognize how advertisers move about the site, how the products are used, and how to encourage them to spend more money by extending their visits
  • Be a thought partner and execute beautiful visualizations

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist
  • 4+ years of experience in quantitative analytical roles, preferably for an advertising marketing team
  • 4+ of experience working with SQL
  • Strong understanding of Recent Visualization tool like Tableau, PowerBI, Mode, Looker, R, and Python picture packages
  • Extensive experience working with Google BigQuery
  • Prior experience improving revenue and retention or a marketing background
  • Proven knowledge of relational databases, such as SQL
  • Strong command of programming languages like R/Python and statistical analysis 
  • Must be results-driven with a strong customer and business focus
  • Self-driven and entrepreneurial, with a track record of innovation and a preference for action in hectic situations
  • Ability to explore and express complicated issues with audiences both technical and non-technical
  • Must be proactive, have a curious attitude, and work well in a team
  • Ability to handle challenges that are ambiguous and unanticipated
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
