Job description

An NYSE-listed company that offers legal services powered by artificial intelligence and native to the cloud is looking for a Senior Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing database structures to support various connected systems. The company's flexible, comprehensive solution allows legal departments to efficiently acquire, analyze, and review enterprise data critical to legal concerns. The company has managed to raise more than $200 mn in funding. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of creating efficient and effective algorithms
  • Be responsible for implementing algorithms in data lakes, pipelines, and other implementations
  • Drive the software engineering process with continuous improvement
  • Provide peer review and pair programming
  • Carefully handle multiple tasks from scalable ingestion APIs, data modeling/transfer to microservices and event-based architectures

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 6+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Knowledge of writing T-SQL and ETL process
  • Experience in NoSQL database and application of Elasticsearch
  • Familiar with the process of transporting Big data from one or more sources to a target site 
  • Experience in setting up a data pipeline
  • Knowledge of AWS, MS Azure, and GCP, along with constituent services and products
  • Experience in legal processing and software
  • Experience in data engineering 
  • Advanced knowledge of Python, Java, or Scala
  • Experience with using AWS-based solutions (EMR, Glue, S3) for data management
  • Experience with Snowflake, Spark, and elastic search (data warehouse and Data analytics solution)
  • Experience in RDBMS (MySQL/ Aurora) and NoSQL (Cassandra)
  • Knowledge of data streaming using AWS MSK- Kafka
  • Familiar with Microservices (Docker / Kubernetes) and Machine Learning is nice to have
  • Familiarity with Azure / GCP cloud platform is a plus
  • Proficiency in English
