Job description

A US-based company that assists individuals in retaining workplace learning and provides businesses with actionable insights that influence long-term decisions is looking for a Senior Back-End Python Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for designing an effective roadmap and managing the overall project lifecycle. The company is making learning more engaging, memorable, and measurable by converting learner behavior into clear reports and actionable insights that drive business results. They have managed to raise $16mn+ during their Series A round of funding. This will be a full-time position requiring some overlap with the CST time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Using Python/FastAPI technologies, define, build, develop, and test server-side support
  • Comment, unit test, and describe your code to make it clean and reusable
  • Thorough understanding of Python 3.x and FastAPI, as well as SQL/ORM and relational databases
  • Build scalable, secure back-end technologies that people can rely on for real-world results on a daily basis
  • Comprehend the DevOps principles and put them into practice
  • Assist with coding and troubleshooting for front-end developers
  • Keep up with evolving technologies
  • Encourage the use of reusable code and usability best practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7+ years of experience working as a software engineer
  • Experience with or knowledge of front-end frameworks like React is a plus
  • Experience and expertise with cloud architecture, development, and deployment procedures 
  • Multiple integrations into enterprise apps (preferably AWS)
  • Interest in Machine learning and Natural Language Processing is a plus
  • Competency in creating genuine software used by people 
  • Expertise in building code that's dependable, scalable, tested, and maintainable
  • Ability to stay committed to deadlines
  • Previous experience working remotely in full or partial capacity
  • Capable of communicating clearly in English, both vocally and in writing
  • Work well in a team but can also work independently
