Job description

A hyper-growth startup that is redefining the sports and digital entertainment industry is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of building customer-focused products and services that will set the company apart from its competitors. To provide sports fans with a better, more satisfying, more engaging experience, the company merges technology and customer data skillfully. Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the gaming products are scalable and enhance user experience 
  • Solid understanding of the modern architectural and engineering practices 
  • Work closely with the product team to design, build, deliver and run the gaming platforms and products
  • Deliver great solutions that are proven to meet the needs of the product and design team
  • Be accountable for your own testing and for the overall quality of the team’s output
  • Document everything to ensure an up-to-date technical and use case documentation 
  • Mentor and help onboard and train the less experienced members of the team 
  • Collaborate and engage with other teams and users across the company to identify ways to improve and build upon the capabilities of the platform 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer 
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience working on distributed, high-volume transactional systems 
  • Solid understanding of C#, SQL Server, REST, and GIT
  • Nice to have experience with .NetCore 
  • At least 2+ years working with messaging technologies (preferably Kafka) and with cloud-based implementations (preferably Azure) 
  • Extensive experience working with both RDBMS and NoSQL technologies is essential 
  • Prolific experience working with containerization technologies would be a real plus 
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to pick up new skill sets quickly 
  • Passion for detail and problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills  
  • Hyper-growth start-up experience is a strong plus
