Job description

One of the fastest-growing, hyper-growth startups in the tech industry is looking to hire a Senior Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for collaborating with teams, including operations and infrastructure, to build and scale back-end services. The company focuses on delivering engaging, entertaining experiences to African sports fans and solving sophisticated problems using innovative technologies. This will be a great opportunity for developers to work in a dynamic environment. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Join a team focused on ensuring the products are resilient and extremely scalable while providing a first-class customer experience
  • Solid understanding of modern engineering practices to build highly successful distributed transactional solutions
  • Work with the product managers to design, build, deliver and run the gaming platforms and products
  • Automate and produce thoroughly tested and high-quality services to help drive success 
  • Play a crucial role in taking the products to the next level
  • Deliver great solutions to meet the needs of the product and design team 
  • Be accountable for the product testing and overall quality 
  • Document everything to ensure up-to-date technical and use case documentation 
  • Mentor, onboard, and help train less experienced members of the team 
  • Collaborate and engage with other teams to identify ways of improvement and build upon the capabilities of the platform 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in production software engineering and delivery 
  • Must have at least 3+ years of experience working on distributed, high-volume transactional systems 
  • Solid understanding of C#, SQL Server, REST, and Git 
  • Extensive experience with .NETCore 
  • At least 2+ years of experience working with messaging technologies (preferably Kafka) and with cloud-based implementations (preferably Azure) 
  • Prolific experience working with both RDBMS and NoSQL technologies is essential 
  • Experience working with containerization technologies is a plus 
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic environment and to pick up new skill sets quickly 
  • Passion for problem-solving
  • Hyper-growth startup experience is a plus 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
