Job description

A US-based company that is establishing a market for boat rentals, charter yachts, cruises, and water activities, is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for building and testing major features on the platform. The company is determined to provide users with elite boating experiences across the world with their advanced platform. The company has managed to securely raise $32mn+ during their Series B round. This will be a full-time, long-term position requiring some overlap with the EST/CST/MST/SAST time zone. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of business logic and how it affects feature implementation
  • Cooperate with designers and developers to translate concepts and ideas into technical specifications for features
  • Make timetables and divide projects into deliverables
  • Prototyping to address high-risk areas as soon as possible
  • Integrate third-party APIs, such as payment gateways and Google Places
  • Present several approaches to a problem-solving problem
  • Write performant code with an emphasis on providing a quick mobile web experience
  • Assist in the planning and execution of cross-platform deployments
  • Create low-defect code with extensive test coverage
  • Thinking ahead and planning feature expansion

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • 8+ years of experience working with Python
  • Must have expertise in Django, Git, MySQL, or other relational databases
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Golang, and Elasticsearch is desirable
  • Experience with Redis, AWS IAM, EC2, and EKS is nice to have
