Job description

A US-based company providing the world’s largest online platform to connect and educate the entertainment industry on a global scale is looking for a Senior Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will assist in the development of the next-generation back-end API that powers the mobile apps and NextJS web front-end. The platform has gained more than 700K members, along with a library of over 1000 hours of authentic education programming, and a network of 500+ industry experts who serve as community mentors. This position requires 2+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the team to write automation tests, understand requirements, build solutions, deliver functionality, and build continuous delivery pipelines
  • Integrate front-end elements with server-side logic and functionalities
  • Effectively collaborate with product teams and engineering professionals to meet product requirements and build innovative solutions
  • Use a holistic, test-oriented approach to troubleshoot and upgrade the application

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Experience with PHP
  • Prior experience working on API projects that showcase/exposes a form of authentication and basic CRUD features
  • Familiarity with Figma is a plus
  • Proven expertise in building medium+ sized API back-ends with Laravel
  • Ability to work well in a small team, with high accountability and reliability
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
