Job description

A revolutionary company building a next-gen Veterinary SaaS platform is looking for a Senior Back-End Architect. The selected candidate will be joining the pre-seed startup from the beginning and have meaningful product ownership and inputs. The company is building a comprehensive, cloud-based medical record management system for veterinarians. The company has raised around $1mn during their Pre-Seed round of funding. This will be a full-time role that requires some overlap with the PST/EST time zones. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build clean, easy-to-use electronic medical record system
  • Develop client scheduling and communication tool that helps to address business requirements
  • Build solutions to automate invoicing/payments processing
  • Integrate solutions with diagnostic and imaging tools
  • Work on predictive analytics to generate tailored insights for pet owners and veterinarians

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as a software architect
  • Well-versed in different back-end programming languages like Java, Ruby, PHP, .NET, Golang, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of web development best practices
  • Must possess strong DevOps experience using FastAPI, MongoDB, and Python
  • Thorough knowledge of front-end technologies and platforms like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Node.js
  • Familiarity with relational as well as non-relational databases
  • Well-versed with third-party libraries and APIs
  • Ability to take charge of activities like database integration, data migration, transformation, and scripting
  • Fluent in English to communicate effectively with different stakeholders
  • Well-versed with accessibility and security compliance, including OWASP security principles
  • Ability to work with server-side CSS preprocessors, such as LESS and SASS
  • Familiarity with automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Knowledge of utilizing versioning tools like Git
  • Experience in creating database schemas
