Job description

A US-based venture capital company that invests in information technology and entrepreneurs from across the world, is looking for a Principal Data Scientist. The selected candidate will be responsible for building and analyzing technologies and systems that will help the company to identify potential companies to invest in. The platform provides vital tools, experiences, and directions to help entrepreneurs successfully accelerate at every stage of the startup lifecycle. Job Responsibilities:

  • Help the existing team to create the product roadmap
  • Define the role and scope out the data science vertical for the team
  • Work with stakeholders, lead a team, have a vision for the product, and be independent
  • Identify problems and make recommendations on how to tackle them
  • Act as a mentor and help engineers and cross-functional teams to find solutions to development problems

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist
  • Extensive experience working with PHP, MySQL, Apache, and Linux
  • Prior experience in AI/ML/Mathematical Modeling
  • Familiarity with AWS Redshift or Snowflake is nice to have
  • Prior experience working with VC or Finance firms is desirable
  • Excellent English communication skills
