Job description

A US-based non-profit company focused on increasing diversity by transforming technical higher education, is looking to hire a Full-stack Engineer. The candidate will work on the full-stack web application development using Django and focus mainly on the backend. The company develops and delivers a wide variety of programs and is supported directly by the technology industry including Microsoft, Facebook, Walmart.org, and many more. This is a nice opportunity to join an early-stage company and contribute efforts to offering an accelerated pathway into the technology industry.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle the design, architecture, development, code review, and testing of key applications 
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and come up with solutions to implement
  • Develop and maintain various internal tools and work processes
  • Design and implement scalable web service APIs and solutions

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience with Django 
  • Must be experienced with Python, Django (Forms, Admin, and REST framework)
  • Must be proficient with PostgreSQL, jQuery, Javascript, Git, and Github
  • Proficiency with Django/Python view templating
  • Prior experience with Bootstrap and Bootstrap JS, Redis, Memcached, and Celery is nice to have 
  • Familiarity with software development best practices
