Job description

A fast-growing education startup for disenfranchised groups is looking for a Full-Stack WordPress Lead Developer. The developer will be responsible for designing & developing WordPress plugins, and customizing WordPress REST APIs. The platform helps organizations reduce staff attrition & build high-performing cultures through mental skills training. This is a great opportunity for those who would like to contribute to building solutions that increase work efficiency.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with an AWS architect to build products that meet requirements
  • Design & develop WordPress plugins including the ones that involves custom post types 
  • Manage the front-end & UI/UX development
  • Customize & integrate with existing WordPress plugins
  • Work on customizing WordPress REST APIs
  • Optimize performance & manage security of the applications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of relevant full-stack development experience with WordPress
  • Experience with test driven development
  • Familiarity with AWS Lambda (Python or Node.js), event-driven computing, Rules-engine development, and Google Firebase 
  • Familiarity with plugins such as BuddyBoss/Buddypress, Memberpress, Learndash, WP job manager, Modern Event Calendar/The Events Calendar, and Awesome Support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
