Job description

A NASDAQ-listed company establishing a robust market that offers consumers a variety of affordable items globally is looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for encouraging good engineering practices. The company has raised close to $2bn in funding and focuses on revolutionizing mobile shopping by providing a personalized and entertaining experience. This will be a great chance to work with a passionate team and continuously improve the web development coding standards and guidelines.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Integrating React-based front-end elements and business logic
  • Optimizing and integrating back-end APIs
  • Cross-functionally collaborating with multiple teams
  • Plan for long-term technical capabilities while optimizing for immediate execution
  • Creating engaging interactions, seamless transitions, and stylish animations for responsive layouts and components
  • Constructing distinctive and (often) challenging integrations using third-party frameworks and APIs
  • Work efficiently in a global setting with PMs, designers, and other stakeholders
  • Promoting sound engineering principles
  • Optimize the performance of the web application 
  • Adopt cutting-edge technologies and keep the web code up to date with the best modern practices 
  • Define and enforce coding standards using tools like ESlint, local Git hooks, Gitlab, and CICD 
  • Build reporting and monitoring tools to ensure the platform’s stability 
  • Support web engineers, helping them to unleash their productivity 
  • Setup processes for the team to become more effective and efficient 
  • Build and continuously improve the software systems and architecture
  • Create platforms and frameworks that enable teams to build great experiences in web development

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer
  • Proficiency with JavaScript / Typescript
  • Proficiency with React
  • Knowledge of Python and CSS
  • Familiarity with MongoDB is a plus
  • Knowledge of AWS is nice to have
  • Ability to work independently, clarify requirements and scope, and be responsible for the end-to-end delivery process
  • Able to build features quickly and iterate in a data-driven fashion 
  • Strong understanding of the whole engineering stack
  • Proficient with the architecture of modern client-side React applications 
  • Skilled at maintaining modern best practices in web development 
  • Possess the necessary grit to take ownership of critical parts of the website 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple people from different areas
  • Passionate about end-to-end feature development from design to execution
  • Proficiency in English
