Job description

A rapidly-growing company on a mission to help people heal together by connecting them with a growing community is looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be linking the company’s business needs with development while showcasing strong programming skills on the back-end. The company retrieves crucial references while connecting people with others in the aspects of mental health, chronic illness, rare disease, disability, and other issues. This is an exciting opportunity for developers who are eager to make a contribution to a worthy cause. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hire and manage a technical team
  • Communicate with stakeholders and run a fun, productive, and coherent team
  •  Mentor junior engineers with best practices around code hygiene, development, and testing
  • Bring innovative ideas to software engineering
  • Help juggle technical debt versus innovative solutions
  • Constantly iterate on new and powerful developments on the company’s sites and app
  • Take initiative to identify places where we can add significant value from a technical perspective
  • Code on the back-end and then either front-end and/or mobile

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack engineer
  • Experience with back-end production code like Python, Node.js, etc.
  • Strong understanding of mobile and/or front-end, e.g., Flutter, React, etc.
  • Extensive experience working with MySQL/SQL to understand the data flow
  • Knowledge of NoSQL, JSON, and other non-SQL file/data management
  • Excellent software engineering hygiene
  • Strong English communication skills
