Job description

A U.S.-based company developing inquiry-based 3D learning solutions to revolutionize the edtech industry is looking for a Full-Stack Back-End-Heavy Engineer. The engineer will work with a dispersed team to deliver high-quality experiences while taking a highly skilled approach to development. In order to increase student engagement and modernize learning, the company is assisting businesses in the educational publishing and learning management industries to produce 3D interactive content. This is an excellent opportunity for developers who are eager to work in a fast-paced environment while developing innovative solutions. This position will require significant overlap with the U.S. time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work across the stack to build highly scalable solutions to enhance user experiences and business growth
  • Develop robust features and infrastructure to support rapidly emerging business and project requirements
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining code quality standards and application design
  • Work with agile methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities
  • Comprehend application feature requirements and how they translate into source code
  • Collaborate with a wide team of developers to achieve sprint goals
  • Design and maintain RESTful APIs and similar core services with scaling in mind
  • Participate in all aspects of software development, including design, implementation, and deployment
  • Architect and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems to optimize speed, scale, and security
  • Work primarily in Typescript, JavaScript, and React using test-driven development while adhering to clean code architecture standards
  • Maintain existing API services and develop new services to achieve business and product goals
  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications and services
  • Developing new and maintain existing CI/CD pipelines

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack engineer
  • A minimum of 1+ years of experience building web applications utilizing Amazon Web Services
  • Proficient in back-end languages, including Node, Python, Ruby on Rails, .NET, and PHP
  • Extensive experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of Typescript, React, and JavaScript
  • Experience in unit/integration testing 
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills
  • Nice to have experience with front-end languages, including HTML and CSS/SaaS 
  • Solid understanding of clean code architecture and SOLID principles
  • Advanced debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Serverless Architecture
  • Nice to have experience with Git 
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
