Job description

The selected candidate will help define the objectives and key results that will shape the team’s roadmap. The company uses technology to enhance a fundamental human experience while building a more empathetic world. This is a great opportunity for engineers to contribute their talents to a relevant cause. This role requires a minimum of 4 hours overlap with the CST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build out and optimize the back-end systems for performance, reliability, and modularity
  • Own the tech stack and informational architecture
  • Ensure standard practices, continuous integration, and deployment practices for assuring speed-to-ship without sacrificing the best customer experiences 
  • Build out and maintain a headless CMS for the team to consistently deliver content
  • Explore, recommend, and implement new tools, frameworks, platforms, or languages that improve the product experience and product development process
  • Design and incrementally deliver meaningful, complex features
  • Break big projects into small, testable pieces to consistently hit meaningful business milestones
  • Resolve performance issues, scale bottlenecks, and balance feature development with long-term tech investments to keep the platform healthy and nimble
  • Engage in clear, inclusive communication with both teammates and non-technical partners
  • Fluency in service-oriented and modularized architecture patterns

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack engineer
  • Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS Services
  • Demonstrable experience with Angular, Ember, and JavaScript
  • Experience collaborating with designers and working on fast-paced, highly iterative projects in an agile environment
  • Pragmatic approach while delivering quality and maintainable code
  • Familiarity with responsive design, SEO, and accessibility concerns
  • Experience creating something from scratch and launching it into the world
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills
