Job description

A US-based online platform that offers promotional and audience engagement services to theatremakers, is looking to hire a Full-stack Engineer. The selected candidate will lead the development of web applications and be responsible for developing the world's best ticketing platform using cutting-edge technology. The company is founded and led by Broadway theatre industry insiders and Silicon Valley tech veterans. This is a good opportunity for candidates to work with a tech-savvy company and rise quickly through the ranks. This position requires a time overlap of at least 4 hours with EST.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, architecture, and execution of fluid and responsive web applications
  • Develop the platform using a modern, open source stack
  • Lead web browsers and their troubleshooting and debugging practices
  • Take ownership of the projects and their end-to-end execution
  • Prioritize competing tasks, work autonomously, and understand technical trade-offs

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in building large, scalable web applications
  • 2+ years of experience with MySQL
  • Proficient with React, Node.js, and MongoDB
  • Experience with AWS cloud architecture and its implementation
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient with JavaScript unit testing framework and libraries, such as Mocha, Chai, Jasmine, and Jest
  • Previous experience in managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Experience in prioritizing feature requests and challenging institutional thinking
  • Passionate about great user experience
  • A solid understanding of wireframing, user interaction and visual design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interest in the performing arts industry and/or a box office, ticketing or a related live event space is an added advantage
  • Strong problem solving skills
