Job description

An emerging company that is making it easier for businesses to engage with customers over WhatsApp is looking for a Full-Stack Developer. The developer will be responsible for managing the GKE infrastructure to maintain a high level of availability and security. The company is revolutionizing how businesses communicate with their customers with their cutting-edge customer engagement software. The company has managed to secure $8 mn+ in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure software quality in production-grade for projects and products delivery
  • Review the program architecture and cloud strategy
  • Work on system requirements with application architects and owners
  • Construct the scripts and templates needed for resource provisioning that is automatic
  • Work together with the engineering teams to enable the use of cloud infrastructure for their applications.
  • Own the Cloud issues you encounter and keep track of their progression
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to handle significant incidents

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack developer
  • 2-3+ years of experience handling production
  • 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes on production
  • Prolific experience with Linux and CLI
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Cloud technologies like AWS and GCP
  • Extensive knowledge of Containerization/Orchestration 
  • Sound knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes (GKE, EKS), HELM chart, and Istio service mesh
  • Solid understanding of Serverless technologies like AWS Lambda, API Gateway, GCP Cloud functions, and GCP CloudRun
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, GCP Cloud build)
  • Demonstrable experience working with Scripting (BASH or Python) and Monitoring (AWS Cloudwatch/GCP monitoring, Prometheus, and Grafana)
  • Demonstrable experience working with infrastructure as a code (Cloudformation and Terraform)
  • Prolific knowledge of Security technologies like AWS Security groups, WAF, GCP firewalls, and Cloudflare WAF
  • Knowledge of Containerization technologies like Docker, Pivotal Cloud Foundry Docker, OpenStack, and Public cloud delivery
  • Solid knowledge of AWS and/or Azure and/or GCP
  • Experience with serverless architecture and tech stack like CloudRun, serverless functions, event queue, etc
  • Ability to architect a highly distributed cloud system and respond to operational issues
  • Experience in real-time chat applications with the volume of tens of millions of messages sent monthly is nice to have
  • Ability to work independently even under pressure
  • Knowledge or experience working with Application and Infrastructure security is desirable
  • Nice to have some CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, OSCP certification
  • Some AWS/GCP associate level certification is desirable
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English
