Job description

A U.S.-based company enabling businesses to secure and efficiently utilize the value in their unstructured data is looking for a Data/Cloud Engineer. The selected candidate will be expected to think through features from the customers perspective and deliver with the end-users in mind. The company's advanced data pipeline helps businesses to make sense of unstructured data and gain immediate insight to resolve challenges. The company has managed to secure more than $30 mn during their Series C round of funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Optimize the products for speed, scalability, and efficiency
  • Recommend improvements to current technologies and mitigate bottlenecks 
  • Work with high-performing teams to deliver robust products
  • Improve the software processes to increase team effectiveness

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer 
  • Working experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Scala, Python/PySpark) 
  • Demonstrable experience in SQL 
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience developing a data platform infrastructure
  • Solid background working with distributed big data technologies such as Spark and Redshift
  • Demonstrable experience with schema design, dimensional data modeling, and large-scale data warehousing architecture
  • Prior expertise in building data pipelines through efficient ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers for best practices in the data engineering space
  • Knowledge of agile software development and continuous integration / deployment principles
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
