Job description

The developer will be in charge of ensuring the efficient operation of the platform’s IT infrastructure components and application functionality by optimizing and identifying performance bottlenecks. The company provides consumers with access to crucial information, such as news, reviews, and ratings from consumers, buyers guides, and information on specific topics. Job Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain and execute quality designs, automated testing, and documentation
  • Ship quality high-performance code
  • Identify, resolve and optimize any performance bottlenecks
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
  • Offer support for the monitoring of IT infrastructure and systems
  • Troubleshoot vital production/QA issues across platforms and applications
  • Manage and maintain tools, services, and automations for the deployment and operations platform
  • Guarantee a solid IT infrastructure through efficient monitoring and maintenance
  • Boost existing technologies to support software initiatives
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines across various environments
  • Takes decisive action and confidently changes course if unsuccessful
  • Deliver on professional obligations through efficient work habits such as and show respect for others
  • Display a growth mindset to continually improve and encourage tenacity
  • Constantly seek feedback to improve and focus on solving issues
  • Act with urgency and deliver top results in hours and days instead of weeks and months

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Linux administration, managing AWS resources, developing CI/CD and server orchestration pipelines, bash scripting, and monitoring
  • Experience with cloud-based production systems at scale along with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, EFS, S3, Redshift, etc.)
  • Track record of running workloads in containerized environments, specifically Docker and AWS ECS
  • Extensive experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, like Terraform and Ansible
  • Prior experience working with Linux and managing AWS infrastructure through the AWS CLI
  • Experience executing and maintaining operations according to DevOps principles and practices
  • Experience with Python and JavaScript-centric codebase and best-practices
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS EKS
  • Solid understanding of monitoring tools, like Datadog, Prometheus, or Zabbix
  • Good understanding of Bash scripting for server-side automation
  • Proficient with continuous integration tools, like Jenkins or Concourse
  • Knowledge of SQL and database technologies, like MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • Expert skills in logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities using tools (Grafana, New Relic, Kibana, and Datadog)
  • Proficient with modern software practices and technologies such as Agile 
  • Experience with AWS Well-Architected principles
  • Sound expertise in utilizing high availability implementations like VRRP, Service Discovery, etc.
  • Familiarity with popular networking concepts like static routing, DNS, DHCP
  • Experience implementing security and compliance controls
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess a healthy amount of intellectual curiosity, a willingness to learn new skills, and the ability to contribute new ideas
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet aggressive deadlines
