Application Architect

A well-known business known for providing high-scale investment opportunities and revolutionizing the trading world through its powerful MT4 platform is looking for an Application Architect. The selected architect will take ownership of developing, designing, and maintaining overall system architecture and implementing best practices to help scale the platform. The company empowers novice and experienced traders to enjoy rewarding experiences through its multi-asset trading technology and gives its users access to the most advanced charting tools. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers who are looking for a full-time role and can provide at least 4+ hours of overlap with the GST (GMT+4) time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop architectural best practices and implement them for high availability and performance
• Design fault-tolerant, scalable, and resilient solutions platform
• Identify areas for improvement, evaluate existing applications, and develop optimization strategies
• Understand business needs and advocate tech strategy while collaborating with Product Management 
• Lead architecture discussions around scaling, deployment topologies, scaling, and sizing
• Utilize your expertise and experience to influence key decisions and decision-makers
• Implement Proof of concepts and standardize software delivery by implementing DevOps best practices
• Provide oversight to the everyday tasks and progress of the development team
• Ensure design, development, and deadline consistency
• Review code efficiently and mentor junior developers
• Create well-maintained documentation to include technical specifications, design, and test plans
• Make sure technical solutions are of sound fit and quality
• Ensure the overall performance of the application stack

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 14+ years of Engineering experience or 5-8+ years of relevant experience as an Application Architect
• Practical experience designing, architecting, and recommending solution architecture across multiple platforms including - Web, Android & iOS (5+ years)
• System Designing expertise with in-depth knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software development
• Expert-level skills in Java 8+, Spring framework, Hibernate, and React Native
• Comprehensive understanding of AWS cloud, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, and SQL/NoSQL DBs
• Expertise with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Familiarity with continuous integration using Maven, Jenkins, Chef, etc
• Thorough understanding of the software development life-cycle processes 
• Sound and demonstrable understanding of software quality assurance principles, SOLID design principles, and modeling methods
• Complete comprehension of Agile methodologies, quality assurance processes, and software testing methodologies
• Previous background working in dynamic and complex environments, with multi-culture, multi-vendor, distributed onshore and offshore development teams 
• Understanding of defining and driving best-in-class security practices across the architecture
• Experience working with trading, financial, or brokerage platforms
• Excellent eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills; fluent in English 
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively with a global team
