How to become a VanillaJS Developer?
JavaScript is a programming language that gives you an edge to use complex features in your web page just through a few lines of code. It is one of the most recommended programming languages out there and a must-know for any front-end developer. JavaScript can be used on both the client-side as well as the server-side which makes it easier to create dynamic websites.
Vanilla JavaScript means writing native JavaScript code that doesn't use additional libraries like jQuery. JavaScript is the language of the web, but in recent years, developers have increasingly used frameworks and libraries to accomplish common tasks, like promises and requestAnimationFrame.
What is the scope of VanillaJS development?
VanillaJS is one of the most popular JavaScript frameworks used by developers across the world. Not just fast and lightweight, this framework makes using additional libraries like jQuery optional for developers.
Its advantages have made hiring VanillaJS coders essential for most companies. While many hire VanillaJS developers based on their skills, some also look at how good they are doing in the market. In addition to their knowledge, companies also hire Vanilla JS coders based on their previous projects and experience in their field.
What are the roles and responsibilities of a VanillaJS developer?
Vanilla JavaScript Framework was first introduced in February 2010 and has been used by many developers for building scalable services. It is not just a versatile framework but also has efficient functionality, making it a preferred choice for most developers across the world. It utilizes the original features & functions of JavaScript and doesn't make use of any additional frameworks like jQuery or React.
Developers can use Vanilla JS to create expressive codes with their own unique syntax. Because of the wide variety of functions that the framework provides, Vanilla JS coders are also capable of designing custom components that can easily be integrated into any front-end system.
Vanilla JS developers also have a good understanding of the basic versions implemented by browsers and can work around them.
VanillaJS developer’s job responsibilities include:
- Write business-specific code and configure it
- Conduct further research on the modern infrastructure for applications

- Create reusable, efficient, and scalable JavaScript code
- Assist software engineers in identifying and fixing any software risks and ensuring a better user experience
- Help bridge the gap between the server-side infrastructure and the graphic elements
- Develop documentation of best practices, strategies, and development processes for JS development, and provide constructive feedback to others

Skills required to become a VanillaJS developer
First and foremost, you must begin learning the fundamental skills that will enable you to obtain high-paying VanillaJS developer jobs. Here's everything you need to know!
1. HTML
HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. HTML is the most common markup language used to describe the structure of Web pages. HTML elements are the skeletons of HTML pages. Images and other objects, such as interactive forms, can be embedded into the rendered page using HTML constructs. It enables the creation of structured documents by denoting structural semantics for text elements such as headings, paragraphs, lists, links, quotes, and other elements.
2. SQL
SQL is a standard programming language used for relational databases. Despite being older than many other types of code, SQL is still the most widely implemented database language. Using SQL, you can query, update, and reorganize data in relational databases. SQL can also help control access to data by setting permissions and preventing unauthorized editing of sensitive information. Many popular database systems implement SQL through the Structured Query Language (SQL).
3. JQuery
jQuery is a fast, cross-platform, and feature-rich JavaScript library that provides an easy way to use JavaScript on your website to make it more interactive and attractive. The main purpose of jQuery is to provide the user with an easy way to design and manipulate dynamic websites that focus on simplicity, speed, and usability.jQuery is open-source software designed by developers. Jquery achieves a lot with very little code.
4. ReactJS
Created by Facebook, React is a javascript library that can be used to build user interfaces. Its flexibility allows developers to create various user interfaces through the use of components (small pieces of reusable code). These components serve as building blocks that are combined throughout an application. When using React, a developer generates an in-memory data structure cache which computes the changes made and then updates the browser to market those changes.
5. AngularJS
AngularJS lets you create dynamic web applications as fast as possible. It does this by abstracting DOM manipulation away from you, thus alleviating the burden of registering callbacks. Instead, it uses two-way data binding to keep views in sync with models at all times in a very efficient manner. AngularJS also helps you organize your JavaScript into modular code that can be reused throughout your application.
