Job description
Job responsibilities
- Own the development, testing, and maintenance of mobile applications for Apple’s iOS platform.
- Partner with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to design and test new features and products
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, try new technologies, and seek opportunities to grow and mentor
- Provide thought leadership in mobile engineering and bring your passion for technology to motivate and inspire on a day to day basis
- Provide detailed estimates of work and ensure timely delivery of features
- Produce and ensure delivery of quality, readable, and well-tested code
- Rely on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals in a timely manner
- Own the elements required to deliver features and results to internal stakeholders
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3+ years mobile software development experience for iOS platform (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Extensive experience in building iOS apps from scratch
- Strong understanding of languages such as Swift, Objective-C, Cocoa Touch, etc.
- Well-versed with iOS Frameworks such as Core Data and Core Animation
- Proficient with developing testable software and building large-scale, complex applications
- Experience in writing clean, well-organized, and production-ready code
- Solid understanding of code versioning tools including Mercurial, Git, and SVN
- Good knowledge of Apple’s mobile app design principles and application interface guidelines
- Fluency in English language for effective communication
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Familiarity with project tracking software, such as Jira
- Knowledge of C-based libraries
- Experience with push notifications, APIs, and cloud messaging
- Knowledge of continuous integration, third-party libraries and APIs
- Comfortable with Agile software development environment
- Good reasoning, analytical, consultative, and communication skills
