Job description

A rapidly-growing company on a mission to offer a secure communication solution for the medical, insurance, and hospital industry is looking for a Xamarin Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for creating and carrying out automated testing. The company is bringing game-changing technologies to the healthtech industry by leveraging data and communication to improve global healthcare outcomes. The company has securely raised close to $600K in funding during their Seed round. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the product team to continue the development and upkeep of the secure communications apps for iOS and Android platforms
  • Handle real-time, complex situations such as slow mobile connections and perplexing encryption protocols
  • Using the Xamarin platform and the existing Java/Kotlin microservices stack, bring real-time, secure communications to healthcare professionals
  • Create native iOS and Android interfaces, as well as cross-platform business logic, by following established design patterns
  • To ensure the quality of the work, conduct unit and functional testing
  • Ask questions and make suggestions about enhancements and potential gaps in requirements
  • Identify and integrate third-party controls as needed to achieve the desired functionality as quickly as possible
  • Be in charge of creating a solid architecture for features and justifying alternatives
  • Determine and address the consequences of your changes in other parts of the application
  • Ensure code performance and maintainability 
  • Follow and contribute to team coding standards
  • Look for new ways to improve your methods and skill set
  • Design and develop apps that use both APIs and business embedded logic to achieve the desired functionality 
  • Create apps with improved user experience as good as the business functionality

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a mobile developer
  • 5+ years of experience with C# and .NET development is required
  • Experience with SCRUM or Agile methodologies is required
  • Must have developed at least 2 mobile applications in the past
  • Strong expertise in development on the iOS or Android platforms, experience with Xamarin is preferred
  • A desire to learn and apply new technology in order to create more engaging, user-friendly, and valuable applications
  • Extensive knowledge of mobile-specific functionality such as location, push notifications, camera interaction, and cross-app interaction
  • Strong interest in understanding the business behind the software 
  • Previous experience working in a team using SCRUM or Agile methodologies
