Job description

A fast-paced company that uses precious metals and digital assets to power the newest mobile, blockchain, and distributed applications is looking for a Senior PHP Contractor. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the full web application development life cycle, from concept to delivery. The company's powerful platform is easy to implement and helps clients to upgrade their businesses with profitable features and back office cost reductions. This will be a long-term, full-time role that requires some overlap with the EST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain cutting-edge web-based PHP applications
Lead the entire web application development life cycle from concept stage to delivery
Refactor, optimize and improve the existing codebase for maintenance and scalability
Collaborate within teams to gather requirements and develop software solutions
Keep abreast of new trends and best development practices
Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
Knowledge of PHP 5.6 and jQuery/Bootstrap3
Familiarity with HTML/JavaScript/CSS
Experience with MySQL
Comfortable performing maintenance, production support, and feature development in a legacy code base
Experience in the precious metals industry is a plus
Experience with BitPay, Braintree, or Zauis APIs is nice to have
Familiarity with Docker and Laravel is a plus
Independent thinker with excellent communication abilities
Self-direction and the ability to pick up on things with little supervision
Willingness to work on a legacy code base
Proficiency in English
